Dimitri Kalagas is a multidisciplinary creative leader currently serving as the Global Head of Creative for Afterpay at Block, where he leads brand and marketing creative for one of the world's most recognised fintech brands across Australia, the US, the UK and Canada.

Over the past two decades, he has shaped creative for some of the most iconic brands in technology, culture and entertainment — including Apple, Tinder, Beats by Dre, Adidas, Nike, Netflix, AT&T and Google. As the creative director for Apple in Australia and New Zealand, he developed the strategy and creative approach for the Apple Watch 'Real Stories' platform, subsequently adapted into multiple international markets, and pitched and produced the Made on iPad 'Fans!' campaign, celebrating Australia’s iconic tennis fans. As global creative director at Canva during a period of hypergrowth, he built the company's first global brand platform, 'What will you design today?' — still the foundation of the brand's creative expression today.

Earlier, during nearly a decade in Los Angeles, Dimitri served as group creative director on Omnicom's AT&T business — one of the largest agency-client relationships in North America — and as global creative director at Tinder during a period of rapid international scale. His time in LA began at Apple's dedicated global agency, TBWA\Media Arts Lab, where he contributed to landmark global work including the holiday spot 'The Song' and the launch of Apple Music.

His work has been recognised at Cannes Lions, the New York Festivals, Young Guns International, the Webbys and MADC, and featured in Lürzer's Archive and Communication Arts, with coverage in Variety, the Hollywood Reporter, Time, Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Adweek, Fast Company, Ad Age, The Verge, Hypebeast, Highsnobiety, Juxtapoz, Communication Arts and Desktop.

Beyond his agency and in-house work, Dimitri is an independent filmmaker. He was executive producer of Young Bucks (2019), a documentary short on Black rodeo riders shot in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., and has co-directed and produced music videos for Universal Music and independent artists through Yang and Yang.

Born in Sydney, raised in Melbourne and now based back in Sydney, Dimitri holds a Bachelor of Design from Monash University.
