In 2010 I was approached by Australian record label Dew Process to produce cover art for the debut EP from Sydney artist Guineafowl. Inspired entirely by Guineafowl's ethereal yet intricate brand of pop, I set about creating artwork that reflected this unique sound.

In addition to the cover image, I also developed a custom Guineafowl type treatment and a series of textures for other elements of the pack.

Find out more about Guineafowl here.

Olio Zito is a newly launched boutique olive oil label, grown and produced on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. I was approached by the Zito family to develop a branding package to help them take their new venture to market. The brief was relatively open, so I set about creating an identity that reflected their traditional Italian heritage, whilst distinguishing itself from other olive oil brands as a fresh, pure and sophisticated product.

The final brand suite consisted of a logotype and marque, a bottle label, stationary kit and website.

Following up on the success of their 2011 lookbook and campaign, I was enlisted by Reform Clothing to help produce a concept for their 2012 range. Inspired by the doomsday predictions developed from the Mayan calender, we set about creating a campaign depicting scenes of survival and escape in a post-2012 apocalyptic world. In addition to campaign imagery, we also produced a short teaser video, to be distributed via Reform's extensive social networks.

Whilst developing the 2012 campaign, we identified a discrepancy between Reform's existing branding, and the company's premium product offering and creative. As a result we performed a brand audit, and set about rebranding the business, generating a brand platform, a new set of brand guidelines, as well as a fresh logotype, stationary, collateral and website - bringing the Reform brand and its assets into line with their products and communications.

In 2010 I was approached by Melbourne agency Loud & Clear, to help develop a creative pitch for entertainment company Strike Bowling. Upon winning the pitch, I worked with L&C and Strike as a creative director and consultant, reinvigorating the Strike brand from the ground up. This involved providing creative and art direction on all aspects of their communications, including campaign creative, collateral design, web design, brand strategy, media strategy and the development of new brand guidelines. The overall aim was to develop an irreverent voice for the brand, referencing their cheeky heritage, whilst bringing Strike and its unique offering of a bar, bowling, karaoke and laser tag to a new, youthful audience after ten years of operation.

Below are some examples of press ads, rock posters, promotional collateral and a new website produced over a 5 month period.

Based on a concept developed by myself and Chris Cork, and shot by photographer Chris Tovo to be used as part of a larger campaign for a fashion brand, this photo series remained unused commercially, but provides an intimate and unadulterated portrait of some of the characters that reside in the infamous Melbourne inner city suburb of Collingwood.

In 2009 I was sent on assignment to northern India to help produce a branded content series for Schweppes. The tour of duty took in five cities in ten days, including Himalayan mountain stations and holy cities by the Ganges. Amongst the moments of madness I took the opportunity to document some of the environments and people we encountered along the way.

Featured below are a selection of the resulting images.

After five years of building an international reputation for publishing the best of action sports and popular culture content online, in 2005 Lifelounge decided to take the plunge into print media, launching Lifelounge Magazine. Initially distributed for free, the magazine rapidly garnered a huge following, boasting a 100% pick up rate and a slew of praises for its unique editorial style and design aesthetic.

From it's inception up until late 2009, I was the music editor for the magazine, writing features and coordinating contributors for both the printed magazine and Lifelounge.com. Artists and bands interviewed included Public Enemy, Cut Copy, Matthew Herbert, !!!, LCD Soundsystem, TV On The Radio, MIA, Liars, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and many more. Additionally I produced photography and design for each issue, alongside art director and typographer Luke Lucas.

Below are a series of spreads I designed over a number of issues. In most cases I also wrote the feature in the spreads, which should still be available to read online at Lifelounge.com.

Shortly after launching their business back in 2005, I was approached by Reform to help them develop artwork for their annual catalogue and website. With a very specific youth clientele, the artwork needed to reflect current trends and clearly distinguish their brand and product from their competitors. With a limited budget, we produced a simple series of photos that could be easily adapted year on year with different illustrative elements.

In 2005 Lifelounge was offered the monumental assignment to name and brand what was then going to be the largest skatepark in the southern hemisphere. Appropriately dubbed Monster, the venue required an equally appropriate brand to communicate its larger-than-life characteristics, whilst referencing some of the qualities of its parent brand, Sydney Olympic Park.

I was tasked with developing the entire branding suite, including the design of a brand marque and logotype, brand guidelines, the website, promotional materials, merchandise, stationary and signage, as well as developing the creative for all communications alongside writer Daniel Pollock.

Below is a small selection of my own photography, presented in no particular order. The images are both commissioned and personal, with styles that range between editorial, fashion, live music, portraiture and travel, and have been shot with whatever camera was on hand, from SLRs all the way through to crappy point and shoot digis.
